This part of the policy is subdivided into alphabetically listed sections, to describe the relevant Regulation or Code of Practice that will be adhered to by the company as a whole. These are known as Health & Safety Policy Procedures.

For example:

A - Abrasive wheels.

This section would set out the minimum requirements to be adhered to where the process involves the use of an Abrasive wheel.

Part 2 of the Policy document is designed to cover all Health & Safety issues generically, though where a company specialises in a certain process then the relevant section(s) can be expanded and specific detail can be provided. The information contained in each section is written in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and as such must be treated as legally binding.
